Does anyone have any experience with the Keyspan USA-19 single port USB to
Serial converter? I was given one that was in use on a MAC system....downloaded the WindowsXP driver from the manufacturer's site....the diagnostics says it works, but I can not get CWCOM to see it as what it advertises(COM4). Thanks in advance. I have two of those, Tom, and they work well. I am not using one
with the K2 however, so I can't comment on that. The two I have in use showed up as Com7 & Com8. My driver disk says it is for the USA-19H family of adapters. The Windows XP driver is V3.4. If you need it let me know. I've added a page to my web site with a quick-and-dirty description of
how one goes about measuring receiver sensitivity, including results from my K2 on 40, 12 and 10 meters. There are many ways one can go about it, and I make no claims that this is the best way, but it at least gives a reasonably quantifiable results. You can read the page at http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/k2_rx_sensitivity.htm and, of course, you are welcome to read other pages as well. I intend to put up some more detailed K2 transmit spurious measurements now that I have a spectrum analyzer with a direct recording capability, as that seems to have been a recent topic of discussion. Perhaps over the weekend. Jack K8ZOA _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. I have a USA-19H which I just tried with CWCOM. My install defaulted to
COM3 and works fine with CWCOM. As I remember whenever I installed the Keyspan drivers before, it always defaulted to COM4. Perhaps it's due to the fact that this machine actually has serial port hardware. The only speed bump I ran into was in CWCOM. When I changed the COM Port setting from COM1 to the new COM3 the "Morse Input" configuration changed back to "Keyboard". After changing it back to "COM Port" everything works fine. I must be doing something wrong....no matter what port I set the USA-19 to, CWCOM will not recognize the port. It's very frustrating....as my fist is worse than normal with the mouse and the keyboard.
