Does anyone know where I might find the information on
the "unmodules" for the K2. The web page that they pparently used to be on no longer exists, and my email to the author is unanswered. Hi
The unimodules were just male headers with jumpers that duplicate the Wx jumpers on the RF board. I made a set of them for troubleshooting a K2 radio. For example on the SSB module you need two three pin headers with pin 1 jumpered to pin 3 and a 12 pin with a .001 (102) cap from pin 7 to 12. These headers plug into the connectors on the RF board and allow the radio to work when the SSB module is removed. You can make other headers to go in place of the noise blanker, the 160 meter module, the 60 meter/xvertr module or the AF filter/DSP module. These are all just jumpers except the one for the noise blanker. In that case you need to build the 5 db attenuator onto the header rather than the jumper. Connect a 470 ohm resistor from pin 1 to pin 2 and another 470 ohm from pin 6 to pin 2. Then connect a 100 ohm resistor from pin 1 to pin 6. Install the resistors on the side of the header away from the SSB module so they do not interfere with the SSB module.
