I have upgraded my K3 with all possible K3S upgrades and in my urban environment it couldn’t get much better. The K4 looks like a beautiful rig and I could afford it…but, I will be 80 in January so I consider how much use I could get out of a K4..:-( If I see a barebones K3S at a good price though, hummm.
Or as my dentist said after installing a permanent bridge: “That’ll hold 10 years so we’re on the safe side…” Vy 73 de Bob DJ0RD/WU5T ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
I would buy a new K4 and find a new dentist.
I am 81 yrs old and am in the process of putting up a new TX455 US Tower. Within the past 2 years have bought a K3S, KPA500, P3, and KAT500. I also have never seen a Brink's truck following a hearse. You worked for it so enjoy it. 73 Marv - KG7V CN77wa. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] <[hidden email]> On Behalf Of Bob DeHaney Sent: Friday, August 30, 2019 4:46 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] Upgraded K3 vs K4 I have upgraded my K3 with all possible K3S upgrades and in my urban environment it couldn’t get much better. Zackly! As I told myself when buying myself a KPA-1500 for Christmas
(I'm 78 and a widower), I'm spending my kids' inheritance, which they don't need anyhow. 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at <http://reversebeacon.net>, now spotting RTTY activity worldwide.
