Using the CW offset feature to go from SSB > CW modes . Works as
advertised. However when I click on a spot when in CW mode to go to USB something is odd: Example: In CW mode at 50.110 Click on spot on 50.125 Radio goes to USB mode at 50.124.47 -- 50.125 minus CW offset of 530 Hz. Anybody else seeing this? I also wonder why one have to use reverse CW to get to an exact CW freq from USB frequency mode change. Yes, this was stated in release. However, why should it matter? I personally always use normal CW. 73 de Brian/K3KO No virus found in this outgoing message. If you click the same spot again does it then go the correct frequency?

Brian,
I have no answer on the incorrect frequency, but CWrev is upper sideband. I guess that is the main reason CW rev is required. If you are going from CW normal, there would have to be twice the CW offset figured in. That may be your 'wrong frequency' answer - the K3 compensates for the CW offset only once, not two times the offset. 73, Don W3FPR. It's because clicking on the spot results in (at least) two actions: 1) Set the radio frequency to 50.125 2) Set the radio mode to SSB Unfortunately the second step invokes the CW offset adjustment, and leaves you <pitch>Hz off where you wanted to be. If your software set the mode before setting the frequency, it should work as you expect. I had the same problem, using the DXLabs Suite. ~Iain / N6ML Brian Alsop wrote: > Using the CW offset feature to go from SSB > CW modes . Yep, same problem here with DXBase. Whenever I hit a callout and the mode is
different than where the K3 is at, the offset comes into play whether I am going to SSB or CW. Once I am in a mode, say CW and I select another callout everything is fine. If I double click a callout when switching modes everything is fine. This all happens only if the "Auto CW VFO offset on mode change" is on. Not a big problem once you get used to it. 73, N2TK, Tony -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Iain MacDonnell - N6ML Sent: Monday, June 29, 2009 12:56 PM To: Brian Alsop Cc: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] V3.19 It's because clicking on the spot results in (at least) two actions: 1) Set the radio frequency to 50.125 2) Set the radio mode to SSB Unfortunately the second step invokes the CW offset adjustment, and leaves you <pitch>Hz off where you wanted to be.
