VX9

Craig Smith
Worked VG2ZO/VX9 yesterday evening on 20 CW.  He seemed to be in demand and
was running Qs at a fast rate.  Does anyone know if the VX9 has any
significance in terms of location?  All I could find in my normal lookups is
that VG2 and VX9 are both "Canada".

Per the 425 DX News #733, Canadians can use special prefixes until 9 July.
 This is to celebrate the 100th aniversary of voice radio communications
by Canadian born Reginald Fessenden.

VX=VE
VG=VA
XK=VY
XJ=VO

VX9 would be VE9 which is now normally limited to New Brunswick.
VG2ZO would be VA2ZO for the normal call of the ham from Quebec.
