WTB a K1-4 board only with 15m option - Wanted

Jimithy66
I built my K1 with the 17m option and now find I want 15m
for QRP contests.

I don't think it is a good idea to remove components and
rebuild for 15m but may do it if I have to.

I have the 80 / 160m board and love it.  In fact it's 160m
that got me hooked on QRP contesting.

Jim / W1FMR      @arrl.net

The 17m band is a good band, but it no way comes close to the
value of the 15m band when 15m is open.  Within the last year,
I've heard ZL-stations at 0400 local time on my K1 with only
a 15-foot wire indoor antenna!

I assume you have the KFL1-4 four-band board.  There is
**only one** component that you must change to alter your
filter board from 17m to 21m:  Change Y1 from the installed
26.050 MHz crystal for 17m to the 29.000 MHz crystal for
the 15m band.  Then, go through the KFL1-4 alignment for
the 15m and 20m bands, doing as the manual says the 15m
part first, then the 20m part.  That's all there is.  You'll
be done in an hour, if you take your time.

KX3 FW 1.48 CW Headphone Issues

DL9HDA
In reply to this post by Jimithy66
Hi, my KX3 (2294) works very well with the new 1.48 firmware. I like
the sound and the noise reduction. There are no "Plopps" and "Clicks" at
the internal speaker.

But if I use headphones I have loud "Clicks" every seven-dit-pause
between the words. If the pause is shorter there is no noise.

regards
Holger - DL9HDA
