Why are my messages being cut off at the subject line?

by any chance are you sending them in HTML, or plain text? Some lists
are restricted to plain text only - I am not sure about this list, but I
think its one of those; someone who knows for sure can jump in and
correct me...

The Elecraft list will do that to messages that are sent as html. Switch
your email client to send only plain text - or remember to turn your
reflector posts into plain text before sending.
I don't know which email client you are using, so you will have to look
at its help file to find out how to do that if you don't already know.

Hello John,

First of all: Please send emails via the Elecraft mailing list only as plain text. Your
request was a blank email body (beside the footer).

The first bounding factor is the internet provider. For example AOL cuts the subject line
to about 38 signs, Yahoo to 47 and Hotmail to 45.

The second bounding factor is the mail client at the receiver. Mobile phones e.g. can
display less than this signs.

If you would like to write a novel, please use the body. The subject is a line (!).
