Has anyone experienced RFI to or from the use of
wireless keyboards and mice on their pc'c in their hamshack? I'm considering replacing my old ones to get rid of some of the wire in my shack. 73, Mark Baugh W5EZY Grenada MS __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Something that I've noticed is that *any* USB device -- USB wired keyboard or wireless keyboard with a receiver connected to a USB port -- is more sensitive to RFI than the old-fashioned 'PS2' keyboard and mouse. The actual wireless part doesn't seem to be a problem. Having said that, I have a very difficult RFI situation on 80/160 meters with the base of an inverted L antenna quite close to the shack. So the answer probably is try it and if you have problems, deal with them the usual way (ferrites). -- 73, Vic, K2VCO Fresno CA http://www.qsl.net/k2vco _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I am running wireless keyboard and mouse (both USB) and a wireless internet
connection (USB) with no problems that I have noticed. I'm using a "HP" wireless keyboard & mouse,...
actually it's Micro Innovations , aa N.J. Importer who licensed a bunch of names for keyboards and mice...like IBM....HP.... works great , the best part was getting a audio level control & mute button... nice when decoding rtty on sound card... or playing music... bill ny9h _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Elecrafters:
I had been intending to build a K2. Unfortunately, it looks like my 1983 vintage Argosy is reaching the end of its life sooner than I expected, and alas, I am too busy with work responsibilities to build a rig right now. Anyway, I'm in the market for an already built K2. One without the SSB function is preferred. However, prebuilt K2s are so rare that I'm not picky about the configuration. If anyone has word of one for sale please let me know. BTW, I am aware of the one currently listed on eBay, and I have that one on my watch list. 73, Steve Kercel AA4AK _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. After weighing all the suggestions from many list members, I've decided to have Alan, w1hyv, build a new rig for me. I feel really bad about not building my own. 73, Steve AA4AK _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. You'll be operating the best ham transceiver you probably ever owned. Why
would you feel bad about that? Besides ham radio, I love motorcycles. I've owned at least two dozen of them. I've been able to fix them, modify them and enjoy riding them, and believe it or not, I didn't build a single one of them. Enjoy the K2. It's a great rig.
