The thing I miss the most is the triple band stacking register if
there was a way to plug in some kind of (key pad) that could have multi control functions one could be the band stacking register. This would be all good an optional accessory that could add more buttons to the radio for control, with out using a computer. I will also second the request for the APF type peaking filter like my ft1000d has, I sill use it all the time after 16 years of owning the radio, which gets used in the lazy boy station every day. When Yaesu failed to carry over this feature in later radios I was disappointed. Even double bandstacking would be a major step forward.

Well, this may not satisfy band-stacking register zealots, but the four
per-band memories solve much of the problem for me. I set up M1-3 for CW, SSB and RTTY and use M4 as a temporary scratchpad. It doesn't work the same way some radios work that have a dedicated button for each band on their larger panels. But it works for many of us. /Rick N6XI On 8/15/09, Arthur Nienhouse <[hidden email]> wrote: > > The thing I miss the most is the triple band stacking register if > there was a way to plug in some kind of (key pad) that could > have multi control functions one could be the band stacking > register. > This would be all good an optional accessory that could add > more buttons to the radio for control, with out using a computer. > > I will also second the request for the APF type peaking filter > like my ft1000d has, I sill use it all the time after 16 years of > owning the radio, which gets used in the lazy boy station every > day. Basically, it should not be too difficult to produce a microcontroller based box that plugs into the serial interface and extends the the existing control panel interface. The same goes for quick flipping between two power levels. -- David Woolley "we do not overly restrict the subject matter on the list, and we encourage postings on a wide range of amateur radio related topics" List Guidelines <http://www.elecraft.com/elecraft_list_guidelines.htm> ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

If the FN-X buttons are intended to be user programmable, it would be
beneficial to be able to set custom labels for them that are displayed on the bottom edge of the display, instead of trying to remember what FN1 = ??. By looking at that grey silkscreened line across the bottom of the clear display cover, with arrows above each FN-X button pointing upwards toward the display, perhaps this is already a planned feature. 73 Eric NO3M Merv Schweigert wrote: > Even double bandstacking would be a major step forward. > Amen..
