XV-series Transverters and K3?

Martin-2
Elecrafters,
i don't doubt the internal Transverter perfectly integrates in the
K3 concept, but how well do the external XV-xxx Transverters
integrate? The manual describes integration with a K2 , but not
with K3.
I have a KXV3A installed in my K3 and a 15Pin cable.
A XV-144 is on its way over the pond (if the icelandic volcano permits).

The XV144 works very well with the K3, Martin, and I get an output power
of 25W on SSB and CW. But you will need to reduce to half power on FM.
The cable is different to the one you used with your K2 and you will
need to wire a new one as follows.....
---------------------------8<-----------------------------------------
You need to use the DE-15 AUX I/O connector to interface with the XV144.
The auxbus line is needed for addressing and control of the transverter
(using its ADR setting and the XV's DIP switches). And the KEYOUT-LP
line is needed to place the XV into transmit mode, in the same way as
the 8R line does for the K2. So you'll need to make a cable like this:

XV DB9      K3 DB15

Pin            Pin

1 ground        5
6 auxbus        2
8 XVTR ON       7
9 PTT          10

Hello Martin,

XV144 integrates with K3 very well.  All you need are two coaxial and a interface cable.

However, XV144 is extremely hot even it is used at the rated output of 10W FM.  For light duty cycle, it should be less hot.
