I just built the XV144 Tranverter and discovered that it is 1.05 KHz off
when receiving and transmitting. I am using it with a K2/100/K60XV and don't think I did anything wrong. Does anyone know why it is off by this amount? Any help would be appreciated. That could be simply a normal frequency error in the local oscillator
crystal. The K2 firmware includes an adjustment to set the frequency exactly on. To access this command, enable the K2 SECONDARY MENU for the transverter number you have assigned to your XV144, hold MENU to move the cursor to On for the transverter, then press DISPLAY until you reach OFS (offset). The value you dial in here (plus or minus) introduces an offset in the K2 readout that corrects for the xtal frequency error in your transverter. Michael,
In the menu, you will find a parameter for compensating the frequency settings for each transverter. OTOH, if your problem is only the difference between the transmit and receive frequencies, I would suspect that the same problem esists on the lower level K2 as well. 73, Don W3FPR 73, Don WFPR > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] > [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of [hidden email] > Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 9:34 PM > To: [hidden email] > Subject: [Elecraft] XV144 Transverter 1.05 KHz off > > > I just built the XV144 Tranverter and discovered that it is 1.05 KHz off > when receiving and transmitting. If it does exist on HF as well, then I'd bet the BFO's possibly been set to
the opposite side of the filter (wrong sideband), and that he's selected a 500Hz bandwidth. 73, Tom Hammond N0SS At 11:31 PM 6/30/2005, W3FPR - Don Wilhelm wrote: >Michael, > >In the menu, you will find a parameter for compensating the frequency >settings for each transverter. >OTOH, if your problem is only the difference between the transmit and >receive frequencies, I would suspect that the same problem esists on the >lower level K2 as well. > >73, >Don W3FPR > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >73, >Don WFPR > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [hidden email] > > [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of [hidden email] > > Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005 9:34 PM > > To: [hidden email] > > Subject: [Elecraft] XV144 Transverter 1.05 KHz off > > > > > > I just built the XV144 Tranverter and discovered that it is 1.05 KHz off > > when receiving and transmitting.
