Yamaha CM500

Elliott Lawrence-3
Received the unit today from B&H.  Packaging says it is an "electret" microphone! I thought it was supposed to be a dynamic element.  Also the mike is a 3 contact miniplug.  Thought that it would be a 2 contact (tip and sleeve) since that's all that is needed!!

Any comments?  Easy enough to return if it isn't as advertised!

Plug it in the back, turn on the bias and enjoy.

It's an electret. The Yamaha doc is wrong.

It works perfectly with the K3. Plug it into the back of the radio, turn on
bias (read the manual), set mic gain to low, and follow instructions in the
K3 manual for setting mic gain.

TXEQ -- set the three lowest bands as low as they will go. Leave everything
else at 0.
