cw monitor volume on the KX3 with new beta software

I have uploaded the latest beta software to my KX3 primarily to get the increased cw sidetone monitor volume. After doing this the sidetone level has indeed increased but whenever I turn the KX3 off and back on, I have to reset the monitor level each time. It defaults to a level setting of 10. Is this normal? Can I change something in the menu or elsewhere to get the monitor level to stay where I want it even if the radio is turned off? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

That does sound on the surface like a bug, but to be certain, Wayne will
have to respond.  He is likely either occupied with other tasks or is
"weekending" for a change.

See page 12 of the user's manual for setting MON, the level control for the
monitor.
