"f" blinking on display?

ROYCE RAINWATER
Hello list:

I'm new to a used k2.  Yesterday a blinking letter "F" came on the right
side of the display when in the cw mode "c".  The "c" and "f" alternately
blink. I can't see any explanation in the manual (most likely overlooking
something).  I would appreciate a kind hint as to what is going on and how
to correct it.

Royce, ke5tc
Keota, ok

Re: "f" blinking on display?

Don Wilhelm-4
Royce,

You have message fast play active.

Look for 'Fast Play" in the manual for an explanation and instructions
for how to turn it on/off.  It is on page 107 of the current K2 manual.
If you have a old revision, you may want to download the latest manual
from the Elecraft website.

Don W3FPR

Bill, w4zv, thanks for the post on the K2 Blinking Annunciators.  Now I
know what it is now how do I turn off the fast play on cw memories(c,f,c)?
I'm slowly learning.  Thanks!

Fwd: K2 Blinking Annunciators

Bill W4ZV
Sorry...used a tablet to reply and forgot about no HTML.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Hi Royce,

Fast Play (FPLY) is one of the secondary menu functions.  Look in the
manual and it will tell you how to disable.  It is used to send
pre-programmed CW messages from some of the buttons to the right of
the display.  If you haven't done so yet, you need to thoroughly read
the operating section of the manual.

The K2 is a great little rig once you learn to use it.

73 & GL!
