k3-kat500-pr6-DigiKeyer via 2 "Y" cable in "cascade" should be OK ?

ik1bxn
Hello you all !

Currently I have my k3 connected via an "Y" DB15 cable to KAT500 and cable and PR6.
Now I'm purchasing a MicroHam DigiKeyer that needs to be connected to k3 DB15 connector too and uses pins 1-4-5 for FSK and PTT.
At the moment I have no place to plug DigiKeyer DB15 connector to.
I wonder if it will be correct to purchase an additional "Y" DB15 and connect it in "cascade" to the "Y" I already have.
The scenario it should be :
1st "Y" plugged to k3 and having one end to KAT500 and the 2nd end to feed the 2nd "Y".
2nd "Y" will feed PR6 at the 1st end and MicroHam DigiKeyer at the 2nd end.
Should it be correct ? Should it create any problem or damage ?

Hoping to have been clear enough, thanks a lot for support

That should be OK but quite the rats nest. :)  I would suggest either
an HD15 breakout board from Winford Engineering or see if you can find
one of the LDG RCA breakout boxes.  I have one of these and it works
great for accessing ACCY connections.

Re: k3-kat500-pr6-DigiKeyer via 2 "Y" cable in "cascade" should be OK ?

In reply to this post by ik1bxn
This is what I plan to do with my KPA500/KAT500 and the antenna switching
device that also needs connection.

Other possibilities are to control the PR-6 "on" another way (some switch
other than the DIGOUT1 line) or include the one wire it requires in some
other cable.

Be cautious of your Y connector supplier. Y cables sold for VGA adapters may
not connect all 15 pins in the expected fashion.

Super ! Fast and shape answer as usual !
Thank you all very much for support, I'll proceed this way so. I just asked Elecraft italian dealer to supply me one original "Y" cable in order to avoid any possible surprise.

Depends what you want to do. If you want to plug it directly into the
back of the K3, you probably want a BRKSD15HDM-C

http://www.winfordeng.com/products/brksd15hd.php

but if you wanted to insert in a chain of cables, this could be interesting:

Re: k3-kat500-pr6-DigiKeyer via 2 "Y" cable in "cascade" should be OK ?

In reply to this post by Greg - AB7R
I have two Y-adapters cascaded on the back of the K3:

First Y:

Top Ten Devices Band Decoder (to switch DX Engineering antenna switch on
tower) & PR6

Second Y:

MicroKEYER II (for FSK & PTT)
    KPA500 KPAK3AUX cable

I connected the wire to the PR6 to pin 11 of the DB15 going to the Top Ten
Devices band decoder.
