Trying to set up a macro command to assign to front panel switch, to go from speaker or phones plugged in rear, but not able to figure the full command. I got command which brings up the menu option, but not the rest with just the button press.
Please someone give me the command sequence or lead me to the right page of the programming manual. Thank you. 73. John. I have PF1 set up to do this, toggle SPKR+PH on and off.
It doesn't need a macro command. Use the K3 CONFG menu, navigate to SPKR+PH, and then hold PF1 (the RIT button). It says "PF1 Set". Then tap "Menu" to exit the menu. PF1 now toggles SPKR+PH. It takes a second or so after you HOLD PF1 for the speaker to turn off. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of John Sweeney Sent: Wednesday, December 18, 2013 1:28 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] k3 macro command for Speaker or Phones? I continue to be impressed with the kx3. Great reception on 40 and 80 tonight with 24 inches of antenna. Not quite as good with 48 inches as a loop between both antenna posts. Which shouldn't work at all. Has anyone paired a K3 with a proper antenna with a kx3 with a proper directional antenna as a poor man's "sort of but not quite diversity receiver". I know you can't lock the vfo's etc. Dave AB3PL.

Dave,
I haven't tried it as a diversity receiver (as such) but have used it on 6m on a separate antenna while my K3 is on another 6m antenna. Allow me to receive in a different direction without rotating the main antenna. As far as use with good antennas the KX3 runs "very close" to my K3, and on transmit is equal. I have the K3/10 so both radios provide compatible input to my 275w HF PA or my 150w 6m PA (runs 125w with 8w input). On HF I run a triband yagi and 80/40m inverted-V; both radios work great with these. Ask how 12w sounds on the Elecraft Net! Sorry, boasting :-) good antennas are the key! 73, Ed - KL7UW I have the KRX3 in my K3 so haven't thought to use the KX3 in a diversity mode, but see no reason it should not work (If you run QRO you might want to protect the KX3 Rx input during transmit). ------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Dec 2013 21:32:33 -0400 From: David Withers <[hidden email]> To: John Sweeney <[hidden email]> Cc: <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: [Elecraft] k3 macro command for Speaker or Phones?
