I have been away for about a year operating my k3 using Ubuntu and
Fldigi and I am just getting back into radio mode. Of course, with a new pc, new version of Ubuntu etc...there are some problems brought on my my forgetfulness. Now am running the current version of Ubuntu and I just downloaded the K3 utility version v1.3.9.2 and when I click on 'Check Versions now" I get...... Unable to connect to Elecraft server. Error: 127 This is my activity log.... 16:55:07 Elecraft K3 Utility for Linux Version 1.3.9.2 16:55:10 K3 MCU version 03.04. RS232 speed 4800 bps. 16:55:14 Connecting to ftp.elecraft.com. Please be patient, this takes a few seconds. 16:55:14 Unable to connect to Elecraft server. Error: 127 Other problem is that I am using Fldigi and so far I am able to get a receive display, but not able to transmit, looks like a PTT problem as the K3 doesn't go into xmit. I am using Hamlib, but my bad notes from last year had me using RigCat. First I want to get the K3 updated and then I will look into the transmit problem. RigCAT is probably your better option until the next release of Hamlib as I've reworked the K3 code and it works rather well here. The only thing is that it's in the source repository. If you're not afraid of compiling from source, drop me a line off-kist and I can help you with it. 73, de Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
