Hi RC,

You'll find it at:

    http://www.elecraft.com/KX1/KX1.htm

I'm not sure how many people have tried this method. I used it a lot
during field testing of the KX1 and it's great for casual logging.

Wayne :

I use the log all the time when I am operating casual pedestrian Mobile
with the
KX1.  It works pretty well for me. The only problem I have is bumping
the tuning
dial sometimes when I flip the rig over. The trick I sometimes use is
to engage
the RIT as that is easier to do than lock, at least then I don't mess
up my TX frequency.

P.S. Maybe on the "KX2" you could add a pseudo-dedicated lock button
and up / down tuning
buttons to make tuning easier when you are forced to put the rig in a
plastic bag during
rain / snow.
