mmtty setup for k3

John-5
I am setting my k3 up again for rtty contest.  I have went through the
N3ME info and have everything working.  My question is: Tony mentions to
adjust the mic level for 4 bars solid with 5 flashing, which I do, but
Tony also mentions to adjust the CMP also.  Mine is set at 0 and it does
not change when I try to turn it.  Tony says his is at level 6.  I am
curious to why mine CMP level does not change off of "0"?  If I already
have 4 bars solid and 5th bar flashing by using the MIC knob is that
ok.  I just don't want to damage anything on my new computer or my
K3-which I just got back from the shop.  If all is set ok as listed
above then I will be good to go tomorrow I hope.  Any input would be great!!

Re: mmtty setup for k3

Compression is disabled in AFSK A and DATA A, as it should be for
digital modes. The CMP/PWR knob should be in PWR mode (PWR led lit), and
you should use it to select your desired power output.

John,

the comp level should be zero in DATA modes. This is normal and cannot be changed.
You should also activate the -s option.
(Menu - sync dt -> has to be layed on a PF switch)
This minimizes distortion and RX/TX switching time critical for ARQ modes

If all the salmon caught in Canada in one year
were laid end to end across the Sahara Desert,
the smell would be absolutely awful.
