I need to re-word my question. When returning a KPA 1500 for repair using
USPS, how much is it costing? Doug "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits." There is no simple answer however it is easy to get the shipping price on
the USPS website by entering the to and from zipcodes, the box size, weight and insured value. John KK9A Doug Renwick ve5ra wrote I need to re-word my question. From Des Moines UPS ground shipping ~ $50 each way. Elecraft covers the
excess insurance...at least for me on a warranty repair. 73 Torrey N9PY -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] <[hidden email]> On Behalf Of [hidden email] Sent: Monday, March 18, 2019 8/20:08 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] shipping KPA1500? go here:
https://www.usps.com/ship/online-shipping.htm KPA1500 probably too big for priority mail and would have to go parcel post which charges by postal zones (automatically calculated when you enter both your and Elecraft's zip codes). I use to run a business where I shipped mainly flat-rate boxes but on occasion used parcel post. Alaska to Miami, FL was most expensive via parcel post. But UPS/FedEx were more than double the cost of priority mail when shipped in/out of AK. Most large businesses that ship everyday get special commercial shipping rates from USPS so using Elecraft shipping calculator might provide a lower rate than private party would get. If you are not Elecraft you would not get those rates. 73, Ed - KL7UW http://www.kl7uw.com Dubus-NA Business mail: [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
