sergio t. ruiz

i STILL haven't started the build on my k2 yet, as i have been too busy
playing with my k1..

anyway..

when it comes time to align the filters, i don't have a windows machine

Bob Nielsen
I used gMFSK on my Linux box in the shack.  It probably isn't as good
as Spectrogram for this, but it worked.

Top class software

Baudline is a time-frequency browser designed for scientific
visualization of the spectral domain.  Signal analysis is performed by
Fourier, correlation, and raster transforms that create colorful
spectrograms with vibrant detail.  Conduct test and measurement
experiments with the built in function generator, or play back audio
files with a multitude of effects and filters.  The baudline signal
analyzer combines fast digital signal processing, versatile high speed
displays, and continuous capture tools for hunting down and studying
elusive signal characteristics.

Linux, FreeBSD, or Solaris operating system
x86, x86_64, PPC, S/390, or SPARC CPU architecture
X11 server display

Disclamer: I am just a happy user of Baudline

here is an example of freq response of my K2 filter, using Baudline
an Gnuplot.

Very awesome, thank you.  This is one of the reasons I have played with
Spectrogram yet, as I have to get over to the Windows machine to set it
up and do it.  Anything special you had to do to setup baudline to get
it working?  Not from the install point of view, but settings and such.

For Mac OS X ... I used iSpectrum, from Dog Park Software.  I used
the free demo version.  It was a snap, taking all of ten minutes.

``iSpectrum is an easy to use audio spectrum analyzer that allows the
user to view live audio in a standard frequency plot, a stereo
oscilloscope view and a waterfall display. The user can adjust the
display resolution, center frequency and save images to disk.''

For the Mac, I use Cocoamodem. http://homepage.mac.com/chen

Just bring up the config window to get a nice spectral display. You
can temporarily set mark and space frequencies as markers.

I use Baudline on Linux...

http://www.baudline.com/

more complex than Spectrogram - but more fun things to tweak!!

Cheers,

>>> is there a suitable program for mac or linux?

for OSX you can take a look to iSpectrum from dogparksoftware.

Here is the link:

Re: spectrogram for mac or linux?

Brian Lloyd-6
For MacOS-X check out MultiMode OSX from Black Cat Systems.

You must purchase the software in order to transmit but you can run
it in receive to see how it works. It has some very nice signal
analysis tools including autocorrelation, FFT, bitrate analysis, etc.
