use of "off topic"

rlpend
Good morning,
What is the policy about OT questions re other companies transceivers?
I need advice on a malfunction and have been unable to find a dedicated
repair forum for that radio.

at   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Amateur-repairs/

Hi Bob,

Go ahead and post your question to the Elecraft list, but please keep it
short and to the point.

As long as we don't get flooded with requests like this it is perfectly
OK. We have a lot of knowledgeable people on the list, so you should be
able to get an answer. :-)

Generally, I think as long as it doesn't degenerate into a too
lengthy off-topic thread, just about any question is legit.

Can't hurt to ask... lord knows I've asked enough over the years.
