Hi Larry.
There's a lot of chatter that goes on here that is not strictly Elecraft. You might look into the various ways of viewing the reflector that you can more easily skip what you don't care for. You can set your service via qth.net to not forward individual mails. Here's my preferred view of the reflector via web browser. http://mailman.qth.net/pipermail/elecraft/2010-February/date.html Or you might prefer... http://mailman.qth.net/pipermail/elecraft/2010-February/thread.html#start In any event, there is a fair amount of 'general amateur interest' and other postings here. 73, Dick - KA5KKT - Is my radio more by others being less... ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I like the other topics that come up on the Elecraft web site even if it is discussion of competitor rigs such as Kenwood or Yaesu. The reason I like this is that I think the Elecraft community are overall smarter then the average ham radio operator. I learn a lot in this forum and I am happy to read almost everything that interests me.
Sure, there is some junk that shows up now and then but that is OK. I can ignore that. 73, phil, K7PEH On Feb 15, 2010, at 10:58 AM, Larry - K2GN wrote: > Things aren't going well today, so I may as well voice my opinon here. > FLAME SUIT ON! Yes, but don't you have to interchange the "if in" and "if out" cables? And doesn't the scan run from right-to-left? And can't you select your own colors (for those who have vonRecklinghausen's color blindness)? 8>) You guys are all pretty much wonderful! YUP I'm a K2 nut and don't really care to read about all the
new stuff with the K3. That's why I have filters on my e-mail. We have a very diverse group of folks here. Your concerns have come up before. The end result is always the same. This is Elecraft and Elecraft is the order of the day. However, there are a great many other issues required to put one of these rigs on the air with a really good signal, maximum performance and ( lord help me ) computer control. No alignment is needed. I'll probably include the ability to fine-tune
the amplitude (like the K3 S-meter calibration) and frequency but it's not necessary.
