Due to other commitments, I've had my K3 disconnected from everything
and sitting in it's case for a few weeks now :-(. I notice every now and then, it gives a double beep. Don't recall seeing this described in the manual, can anyone explain what this means - other than it reminding me I should be using it! 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. -Albert Einstein, physicist, Nobel laureate (1879-1955) ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

It's the sporadic E indicator. Double beep means MUF has reached the presetted level set in the Config menu.
It can also be the K3 has received a cellphone connection request (3beeps) :-) 73' Paul PD0PSB

Thanks Harris, I thought it might be that - Battery obviously doesn't

The only battery in the K3 is the 2032 lithium battery for the clock and memory backup. It doesn't beep to my knowledge and should last for years. Mine has been in the radio for almost two years and there is no 12V applied when the radio is not in use. >73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 >-- >It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless >they >kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets. >-Voltaire, philosopher (1694-1778) > >On 1 Jul 2009, at 08:26, Harris Leck wrote: > > > Change the battery. well, it was Harris's response that the battery needs changing -
