We held the SSB net this morning (1800Z on 14316 kHz). There were 16 of us in total (3 more than last week) over about 30 minutes. We had some interesting questions asked, with some answers. Interestingly, there were three stations from the Boston area and three Phils (well that is intersting to the Phils, HIHI). Unfortunately, propogation to the west coast was almost non existent. Heard a few stations but unable to be heard.

We held the SSB net this morning (1800Z). An ongoing QSO on 14316 caused us to move up 3 kc to 14319 kHz. Thank you to those who put the frequency change on the reflector. My apologies to those who missed the QSY. The signals from most of the country were fairly good to the net control in Oregon (S6 to S9+). There were a couple of PNW stations that got missed however. Next week we will look harder for relays. One that we think we pulled through at the end is W7BRS. Jeff was that you? Counting W7BRS, there were 23 of us in total (7 more than last week) over about 25 minutes. We had a good SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz. The signals from most of the US and Canada were fairly good to the net control in Oregon (S6 to S9+). Three WA/OR stations needed relay to me. Some stations report that they could not hear many others or that the signals were low. Conditions are such that those running higher power (over 500 watts) like the NCS are OK, but those who are barefoot are close to the noise for many stations. We continue to grow with 34 participants today, and there were a number of good questions and comments. We ran about 55 minutes today. We had another good SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz. We had 24
participants today, and there were a number of good questions and comments. The topics discussed included compression settings and voice quality, optimized RX EQ settings, ATU functions and other issues. Several stations got real time feedback on voice quality that helped them set their compression levels. Conditions were not great, with many stations being weaker to net control than usual; and several stations reported hearing few participants. On the other hand, we had two check-ins from Alaska this week (one was even mobile). We started a few minutes early and ran about 45 minutes today. We had a good turn-out for the SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz, even
though most signals were down from what they have been in previous weeks. Most stations were S5/6, but there were a few up to S9. There were also some near the noise level, and there was also a lot of QSB. The surprise highlight was ZL1PWD checking in from New Zealand into the back of the net control's quad. Peter was weak but there. We had good discussions about headsets in use or recommended. There was also interest in hearing if anyone new of progress/launch dates for the Elecraft high power amps and pan adapter. We ran about 40 minutes today. We had a good turn-out for the SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz, and most

Sam and others,
Sorry to those who tried but were unable to check in. We may need a more systematic relay approach to help us through the strange differential propagation conditions we are experiencing. Some hear others well and some don't. I will be looking at a second antenna here (maybe just for receive, maybe both). Keep trying. If anyone who hears most stations wants to stick around for the entire net to help relay in others, that would be great. We had a good turn-out for the SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz, considering the somewhat poor band conditions. However, some stations reporting hearing few others. There was also a mini DX pileup caused by TO2T about 1.6 kHz below us that caused QRM in the latter part of the net. The main topic of discussion was the K3 mod that requires cutting some main PCB traces, even though the sub receiver errata mentions it. There is some confusion about what this mod is for, etc. There was also interest in what Elecraft may announce at Visalia and some discussion about the EQP that just ended. In reply to this post by Phil and Christina
We had a good turn-out for the SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz,
including Eric, WA6HHQ, and Don, W3FPR. Most of the signals were good to net control, but some stations just can't hear each other. WH6S, Richard, checked in from Hawaii with a strong signal on the back of my beam. We had good discussions about distortion/feedback and the indicated mods for the K3. There was also some discussion about an upcoming revised DSP PCB that will help with low frequency audio response. Eric was there to enlighten us. We ran about 34 minutes today. The net control station, NS7P, will not be available to do the net next Sunday. We are looking for a volunteer. It isn't difficult as long as you are positioned to hear most of the country and have a reasonably strong signal. Feel free to put your name forward. We had a short and sparse SSB net today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz. The signal
levels were down, and not very many stations were heard. Only a CO and AZ station were 59 or better in OR. Most were 56 or less, and several that I usually hear well were at or below the noise level. We had only 14 participants including net control and ran for only 17 minutes. After the check-ins stopped, we had very little discussion (a few antenna comparison transmissions and interest in an Elecraft panadapter). Mark, K4SO, volunteered to be a back up net control. Thank you, Mark. We had a short and sparse SSB net again today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz. The
signal levels were down, and not very many stations were heard. We had only 13 participants including net control and ran for only 18 minutes. Attribute that to the holiday and very weak conditions. Discussions were on AGC settings, Visalia rumors and filter offset impact to audio quality. Remember that N1LQ is looking for posts to the reflector on AGC settings used for different modes, etc. Here is a list of the 13 participants: Station Name QTH Rig S/N N1LQ Dave MA K3 371 KM5Q Windy NM K3 764 K4GCJ Gerry NC K3 1597 KB0YH Gus CO K3 441 K4SO Mark VA K3 2861 KV5E Rob TX K3 1417 AD5SX Paul NM Ten Tec Jupiter KH7C Merv HI K3 2306 VA7OJ Adam BC Icom KA0NCR Arnie NE K3 185 W6JDB Jay CA K3 1288 WE0H Mike MN K2 6698 NS7P Phil OR K3 1826 Thanks to everybody who checked in. We had a short SSB net again today (1800Z) on 14.316 MHz. The
signal levels were just OK to net control (generally under 59). We had 17 participants including net control and ran for only 18 minutes.
