Damn, have XV144 not yet built - will probably wish to sell that now,
since it was intended to be used with my K3. 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- Children aren't happy without something to ignore, And that's what parents were created for. -Ogden Nash (1902-1971) On 13 May 2009, at 17:44, wayne burdick wrote: > See you at Dayton :) > > 73, > Wayne > N6KR > > http://www.elecraft.com/manual/W2%20Data%20Sheet%20rev%204sm.pdf > > http://www.elecraft.com/manual/K144XV%20Data%20Sheet%20rev%204sm.pdf ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I'd be interested in reports on the K144XV from those of you going to
Dayton who have a XV144. How does it fit in, where does the additional Ant. socket go and what type is it (PL259/N/BNC?) 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- Ideas are like rabbits. Several questions come to mind:
So does this mean I'm going to need to start using a mike or will there be a sudden upsurge of 2M CW? Who will run the 2M Elecraft net and will it be multimode? I wonder how my 88ft doublet will spew on 2M? Will there be roger beeps, etc, in the firmware? 73 jim ab3cv (tongue firmly in cheek!) ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

There must be a good market for wattmeters these days in spite of the fact
that most rigs and amplifiers have internal meters. Gosh, I would have thunk a K3-S external speaker would be an easy sell and a panadapter would blow ICOM off the market and give Flex a run for their money. Actually this will probably get me to do some 2M activity! I liked the other
poster's idea of it being hidden and not likely to be considered a "new rig." I'll have to do some research on 2M antennas. 73 jim ab3cv ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I much agree that a panadapter would or should have been on their priority list rather than what they've just announced especially the wattmeter portion. Fern with K3 #412

I have been eyeing the 2m transverter because of an old thing I have about
2m cw and ssb. Really irrational, since neither has any activity here in AZ. My first reaction to the news was, wow, I bet the new K3 option will cost less than the transverter, but will it have an oven option? Then when I saw that it will depend on the K3 frequency, it looked even better. Only issue now is I'd need a kilowatt and moonbounce to get to use it (I am not a fan of FM), and 10 W may not be enough to drive a tube to 1 kW. 73, Erik K7TV ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Miller" <[hidden email]> To: "Jessie Oberreuter" <[hidden email]> Cc: "Elecraft Reflector" <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 5:32 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Sneak Preview: New Elecraft products > Actually this will probably get me to do some 2M activity!
